Cary Simowitz is a trial lawyer who concentrates his practice representing insurance clients involved in insurance coverage disputes and litigation as well as businesses and individuals in premises liability lawsuits.

Cary Simowitz is a senior associate trial lawyer who focuses his practice defending businesses, individuals, and insurers involved in lawsuits throughout the state of Missouri.  In addition, he is part of the firm’s insurance coverage practice group concentrating on lawsuits involving first and third-party coverage interpretation and issues of potential arson/fraud in submitting insurance claims.

Prior to joining the firm, Cary worked at both a well-known plaintiff’s firm and defense firm giving him an excellent perspective on litigation from both sides of the fence.   He graduated from Washington University School of Law, whereafter he achieved his Master of Fine Arts in writing at UCLA where he spent three years fine tuning his writing skills.  Cary interned as a clerk for then-U.S. Chief Magistrate Nannette A. Baker and the Office of the Federal Public Defenders, Eastern District of Missouri. His outstanding legal writing and research skills were recognized with the Carmody MacDonald Legal Practice Excellence Award and a Certificate for Excellence in Oral Advocacy. He served as a judge and Summer Chief Justice of the law school’s honor court in 2015.

When he is not practicing law, Cary works as a national award-winning playwright and screenwriter. His work has garnered him awards and productions across the country, including notable developments at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., and the Alliance Theater in Atlanta, Georgia. He is a veteran soloist with the Los Angeles Lawyers Philharmonic & Legal Voices Choir. Finally, Cary serves as the St. Louis Regional Ambassador for the Dramatists Guild of America.
