Irene J. Marusic

Overview

Irene Marusic concentrates her practice on the defense of complex liability and medical issues, including alleged criminal acts on business property, sexual assault and abuse, premises claims, wrongful death claims, complex medical causation issues, and high exposure general liability litigation. Throughout her career, she has represented clients that include national and regional insurance carriers, local and national chain businesses, youth serving organizations, daycare facilities, religious and educational institutions, and church camps.

In the area of sexual abuse claims, Ms. Marusic routinely is involved in the complex constitutional issues surrounding the First Amendment right of freedom and exercise of religion as it relates to allegations against religious organizations. She has successfully represented clients in trials involving multimillion dollar demands and has appeared in the Missouri Supreme Court and appellate courts.

In the area of trial practice, Ms. Marusic has been recognized as one of the premier trial lawyers in Missouri. Her many awards include the annual “Winningest Defense Lawyer” awarded by the Missouri Lawyers Weekly publication in which she obtained five defense verdicts that year to achieve the award, and she has been regularly recognized by The Best Lawyers in America as a leading trial lawyer in her areas of concentration.
