Matthew D. Bukovac

Overview

Matthew is an associate trial lawyer who focuses his trial practice on the defense of businesses and individuals involved in litigation throughout the state of Missouri in the areas of premises and retail liability.

Matthew distinguished himself throughout law school in the area of trial advocacy, representing the University of Missouri School of Law in over ten interscholastic and intramural competitions, earning top finishes in prestigious national competitions including the ABA National Labor and Employment Law Mock Trial Competition, the National Trial Competition, the National Moot Court Competition, and the National Religious Freedom Moot Court Competition as well as taking first place at the University of Missouri Law School's Wassinger Mock Trial Competition. Mr. Bukovac served as Lead Article Editor for the Missouri Law Review and was selected as a Bukowsky Scholarship Recipient, awarded to students with LSAT scores above the 95th percentile

Prior to law school, Mr. Bukovac earned his Master of Fine Arts from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, where he received the Venable Herndon Award as the top M.F.A. student in screenwriting. He was selected as one of six students nationwide to participate in the Kennedy Center's 5th Annual MFA Playwrights' Fellowship. He is also the author of Failed States: Unstable Countries in the 21st Century (published by Rosen Publishing Inc.

In Matthew’s spare time away from his trial practice, he likes to engage in competitive Chess, restore antique items, and build computer devices such as retro gaming stations and network security tablets.
