Wisconsin Federal Court finds in favor of Boat Manufacturer serious hand injury case

In 2022, Bradley Hansmann and Daniel Hunkins successfully defended a boat manufacturer in Federal Court in the State of Wisconsin.  The plaintiff alleged hand deformation when his finger and hand were caught in an alleged pinch point on the gate of a boat.  Brad and Dan filed extensive Daubert motions and, following the briefing and hearing, the Court struck certain of plaintiff’s expert’s opinions under Daubert.  Following the Daubert rulings and in response to the filing of a Motions For Summary Judgment and supporting Memorandum of Law, the Court entered summary judgment in favor of the boat manufacturer on all issues including the statute repose and a manufacturer’s duty to issue post-sale warnings under the specific facts of this case.
