Firm principal Jim Foland has received the prestigious honor of being selected, by specific request, to play a major role in an innovative new program spearheaded by Deputy Attorney General Bill Corrigan. This program, titled “Missouri Attorney General’s Trial Master Program and Committee” is aimed at strengthening and deepening the knowledge and skill sets of the AG trial attorney’s representing the state of Missouri and its various departments in civil matters.

In a move that demonstrates both wisdom and objectivity, the Attorney General’s office conducted a voluntary, self-examination of the experience and resultant outcomes of its team(s) and found numerous areas in which positive change could be affected. They then immediately set about devising a plan to raise the bar and decided the best course of action to be the assembly of a select group of professionals from the Missouri legal community, whose roles would be to confer with and provide guidance and mentorship to this team of promising young attorneys.

The expressed purpose of the group was defined by the AG as follows:

“The purpose of the Program and role of the Committee shall be to act as independent consultants and provide non-binding, discretionary advice and guidance, including trial skills and strategies to the Missouri Attorney General (“the AG”) and his Assistant Attorneys General, regarding legal strategies and related matters on pending and prospective litigation, in which the state of Missouri and its departments and employees are represented by the AG.”

Our own Jim Foland is being joined by a talented group of noteworthy attorneys from around the state, all of which have pledged to support and contribute to this program as a center of excellence working in the interests of the state and the public at large. Each of these contributing members has been appointed as Assistant Attorney Generals, a distinct honor and responsibility for those selected.

Please join us in congratulating Jim for his selection into this notable group of professionals and for his continued dedication to community service. We continue to encourage our professionals at WWBH to give time back to our community.
